Are you ready to take back control of your food?
Harnessing state-of-the-art growing technology known as aeroponics, the Tower Garden offers you a cleaner, simpler and more efficient way to grow fresh, healthy food for your family.
Aeroponics is the process of growing plants in an air or mist environment rather than soil. Aeroponic systems use water, air and liquid nutrients to quickly and efficiently grow more colorful, tastier, and incredibly nutritious produce.
5 Reasons Why I Love My Tower Garden
1. The Tower Garden is clean, safe and resistant to pests.
The Tower Garden does not use dirt, so there is no digging or weeding. Plus, you don’t have to worry about ground pests or contaminated soil. Soil in urban areas is often contaminated with heavy metals, asbestos, petrochemicals and other pollutants. Luckily, the Tower Garden is a soilless growing system. So there’s no cause for concern about contaminated dirt.
Additionally, the plastic used to make the Tower Garden is made from UV-stabilized, food-grade plastic. The high-quality plastic resins used to make the Tower Garden are compliant with both U.S. Food and Drug Administration guidelines for food contact and European guidelines for Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances.
Also, the Tower Garden Mineral Blend fertilizer is designed with human nutrition in mind and is made up of pure earth minerals essential to healthy plant development. The Mineral Blend provides an all-natural and quick-to- absorb fertilizer for plants so they don’t have to spend energy and time, like with traditional gardening, sourcing nutrients from decomposing organic matter in soil.
Finally, thanks to a close-loop system that recycles water and nutrients, Tower Garden plants experience less stress. So they’re healthy enough to naturally resist most pests.
2. The Tower Garden Is Flexible
The Tower Garden can be used to grow a huge variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers.
Tower Gardens can also be used by families with young children, single or married couples living in big cities and in apartments, by seniors and even by farmers in greenhouses to grow highly dense nutritious produce.
Finally, with the Tower Garden Grow Lights Kit, you can grow leafy greens, herbs and other non-fruiting plants indoors year-round, regardless of climate and season.
3. The Tower Garden Is Earth Friendly
It is estimated that traditional agriculture uses approximately 80% of our water. This is a serious problem, especially for the western U.S., where water is in short supply. The good news? NASA has found that aeroponic technology uses up to 98% less water.
Another known issue with traditional growing methods is that of space. You need a lot of it. And we have less and less of it—in fact, in the U.S., we lose about 3,000 acres of farmland to development daily. But growing vertically requires only 10% of the space traditional farming uses.
4. The Tower Garden Is Efficient
Research has shown that—compared to traditional growing methods—aeroponic technology facilitates faster growth and larger crop yields.
According to NASA, plants grow up to 3x faster in aeroponic growing systems compared to in soil. Plus, yields are more consistent, and with grow lights, year-round growing is possible.
The University of Mississippi compared product yield of crops grown in aeroponic growing systems and in soil. Researchers found the yields of plants grown with aeroponic technology were more than 30% bigger on average.
5. Tower Garden Produce Is Fresh & Highly Nutritious
The fruits and vegetables grown in my Tower Garden are fresher and more delicious than any food I have ever bought in a grocery store.
Did you know? The average time it takes produce to be harvested, packed, shipped, unloaded, and then stocked onto the shelves at your local chain grocery store is a week. After a week of being moved around, you buy the produce and then bring it home, maybe you eat it right away, but probably instead, you stick it in the crisper in your fridge and plan to eat it over the next several days.
At the same time, fresh produce begins to lose its nutrient value immediately after harvest. University of California studies show that vegetables can lose 15 to 55 percent of vitamin C, for instance, within a week. Some spinach can lose 90 percent within the first 24 hours after harvest.
So, when I pick my produce right off the vine and eat it, I am getting the highest nutritional value I can get from my fruits and veggies.
Additionally, much of the produce bought in stores and stored in crispers, ends up being thrown away as it wilts and rots within days. When I pick what I want to eat, when I want to eat it, I waste less.
